Here are the details on a few recent Email Phishing Attacks
A Recent Twist — The hacker created an email address that looked like it came from Trident:”email@example.com” (adding an “i” between the “n” and “t” in Trident). The settlement officer’s contact phone number in her email signature was changed to one that reached the fraudster. Otherwise, it looked exactly like her email – it even had her picture. The fraud failed because the buyer, sales agent & Settlement Officer all recognized the scheme. But it could have ended very differently if the closing agent had not been Trident Land Transfer.
